Our Mission

Since 1987, the Hmong have been exposed to Protestantism through FEBC broadcasting from Manila, Philippines. The gospel quickly spread to the northern provinces where the Hmong live. Thanks to the Bible, the Hmong know how to read and write their own words when following Protestantism. For them, it is a gift from God. But from there the persecution of the Protestant Hmong also began.

To justify the repression, the government slandered that the Protestant Hmong were plotting to establish a Hmong kingdom.

The government forced the Hmong to follow Protestantism to renounce their religion; confiscate property and identity documents and deport those who disobey.

The Hmong flee the government everywhere. Some ran through Burma, some ran through Laos, some ran to Thailand to seek asylum and some went down to the Central Highlands.

In the Central Highlands, the government used many measures to separate the Hmong from the natives.

For example, the government confiscated land from indigenous people to sell to companies but blamed it on giving it to Hmong immigrants.

Most of the Hmong households who fled to the Central Highlands were not granted household registration books, identification papers, marriage certificates, etc. They were not granted farming land and worse, their children could not go to school.

More than 2,000 households, including tens of thousands of Hmong people, in Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces are in this situation. “All men are born with equal rights. They are endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights; Among these are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
(Excerpt from Vietnam's Declaration of Independence)

So far. Although Vietnam has opened up for integration, religious persecution continues and the number is constantly increasing. Therefore, our purpose is to establish the Hmong Human Rights Coalition to protect the religious freedom of the Hmong.
